Barbeque Crickets – Large Bag

WHY EAT INSECTS?

The answer is simple. Insect food is good for your health thanks to all the wonderful nutrients that are naturally occurring. It is also good for the planet’s resources and has a low ecological ‘foodprint’.

NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF INSECT PROTEIN

Barbecue Crickets are a complete protein, boasting all 9 essential amino acids. They are high in B12, fibre, iron, Omega 3 and 6, and many other micronutrients. They are almost 70% protein, have more calcium than milk, more iron than spinach, and almost 20 times more B12 than beef.

THE PLANET’S MOST SUSTAINABLE SUPERFOOD

Known as one of the most sustainable foods on our planet, Barbecue Crickets use very few resources such as land, feed and water. The resources needed to produce 10 grams of insects is 12 times less than the resources required to create 10 grams of beef protein. If a family of 4 ate 1 meal a week using insect protein, they would save the Earth 650,000 litres of fresh water over the span of a year.

FARMING AND SAFETY STANDARDS

All of our insects are farmed with you in mind. We use high quality grain feed for our free-range, crickets. Our harvesting methods use the most human methods of euthanization and are developed to align with the standards applied for the human food industry with hygiene as a top priority.

Once the crickets are euthanized, they are rinsed in potable water, and then roasted. Our insects are free from pesticides, insecticides, antibiotics, additives and preservatives. All inspection and licensing has been attained.
